If you're a first time visitor here, I have a year's worth of artwork/progress done during the first year of my Animation program archived here. If you click on the various sections under the menu bar to the right, you'll find lots of fun stuff to poke (and laugh) at. Hopefully they'll be helpful as either reference or most likely lessons on what NOT to do when you're drawing =p Feel free to email me if you have any questions!

Alright guys, it's been a hectic week. I'd spent most of my time finishing off final assignments and checking things off the to-do list like mad. And while it was an extremely fun and satisfying school year, I feel great joy and relief for the upcoming summer months. When it's just gonna be me...and the sun. oh yeah.
This summer I hope to be more active here, and update with personal artwork. But first I have some exciting news~! I will be leaving for Japan in less than 24 hours! I will spend about a month there with naught but a backpack and a great friend for company (hopefully we will manage not to tear each other into pieces ^_~)
Ok fine...a backpack and a purse. Hopefully I'm not over-packing.
This trip's really important to me, and we've been planning it for months. It's still a bit surreal to think that I'll be off so soon. I can't wait to see what adventures and growth I'll be able to experience!
I guess this post will be the mark of the end of something and the beginning of the next mini-chapter in my life, and as such I just want to let you know that I really appreciate your supportive and nice comments/emails over the past few (very stressful) school months, and for the lurkers, I appreciate your sneaky lurky-ness! =) This blog is really just an occasional outlet for my thoughts, and a way to keep track of my art, but your comments encourage me to keep on going, and keep on improving, and also reaffirm my...existence I guess, haha. I know I am not just going crazy and speaking to myself. (like I normally do in real life =P)
Anyway if I have an easy access to internet, I'll see if I can post some pictures during my trip and keep you guys updated =) If not, I will be back in a month! I hope everyone has a great summer holiday!

Journey to Japan
Animation - Flour Sack Pencil Test
I haven't figured out a way to transfer my animations from the line-tester at school to my computer. I had to shoot this with my crappy webcam, so that's why it's such bad quality. I would have liked to upload more pencil tests but I'm too impatient to wait for them to upload (oh so slowly) to blogger. This is our final assignment for the year, it looks really simple (just a plain flour sack interacting with a prop) but it's supposed to demonstrate all the basic principles we've learnt. This is the only animation I'm happy with, because I feel like everything is starting to come together, and I have a greater grasp/understanding of the whole process. Hope to make more progress next year!
ps: this was 163 drawings (and 300+ frames, not 300 drawings like I'd unwittedly exaggerated to some people -_-)
ps#2: gosh, the quality is even more horrible than I thought. I apologize! I really tried. I guess if you squint reeeaaally hard, you can at least see the motion =S anyway I'll do my best to upload better quality ones in the future

Scribbles - bishounen
I was going through my old stuff last night, and found a couple of drawings that gave me an "oh yeeeeahhh!" moment. These were done before I started animation and learning the anatomy properly, so there are tons of mistakes. But I still really like them, and it's hard for me to say that for most of my work. Usually I'd draw something, like it for a while and then utterly loath it a few months later. Anyway, these bring back many nice feelings, and I think they deserve a quick post.
oh man I was so obsessed with Kilik (Soul Calibur)...

I am SO close to finishing the semester, I can smell it...just 1 more day, 2 more assignments, and 1 exam. Looking forward to an uber-update during the weekend.

Life Drawing - mixing gesture and form

Storyboard - Short Leica Reel
This semester our entire class worked on one storyboard for a scenario that we'd all agreed upon. It's a story about tough love between an insecure rock and a pretty rockess. We divided the story into parts and each of us were responsible for a "beat," including the script, storyboards and revisions. I can't wait to see how it looks when our teacher assembles it. XD
I threw in some random music just for the sake of...random music.
Digital Painting - Lonely Castle

I'm back for a bit. Take that, internet!
Originally sketched for my layout assignment. Quickly painted and used for a scene to practice camera movement in the digital tools course. The movement itself turned out really crappy and I couldn't zoom in much without having it go uber-pixely on me, but I like the general mood of the picture. =)
ZOMG! ONE MORE WEEK OF SCHOOL! Just 6 more assignments and 2 written exams. *trudges on*
